Manager, KPMG Banarra, Human Rights & Social Impact Services

KPMG Australia

Tina joined KPMG in 2017 as a senior human rights specialist. Tina applies her cross-sector experience to develop sustainable and practical systems and process for clients that meet their corporate responsibility to respect human rights. She specialises in modern slavery readiness, conducting assessments for clients in the retail, property, natural resources and financial services sectors. Tina focuses on solutions, working with clients to enhance their systems and controls to better identify and manage modern slavery risk.

Prior to joining KPMG, Tina managed human rights case work, designed legislation and social policy, ran public policy and advocacy campaigns, and designed and implemented strategy for business and government. Her research on child marriage has contributed to the understanding of the nature and prevalence of modern slavery in Australia.

Tina honed her dispute resolution and stakeholder engagement skills when she worked for the Commonwealth privacy regulator, managing the merits review and determinations team with a mandate to protect personal privacy, as well as to promote the right to government-held information. She has also worked as a lawyer in social policy law, and advocated for equitable access to essential services through both policy and litigation.
