Partner, Operational Improvement Services
Team sports have shaped Chris – whether it was ice hockey in Canada or rugby union in Scotland. “Working with a group of individuals to achieve an outcome is really what inspires me. It’s a matter of ensuring everyone can succeed as much as possible.” Chris applies the same ethos to his work. As the Lead Partner for KPMG’s National Business Performance Improvement Service and Lean, his focus is squarely on delivering results as he works to build capabilities across the various industries.
Chris transferred from KPMG’s UK office to Australia nearly a decade ago. In so doing, he brought his considerable experience in implementing the Lean principles in major financial services organisations in the UK and Europe. The move proved a seminal time for him. “It was a real opportunity to take new ideas to a market. I learnt that if you believe in something, if you think it adds value, you should back yourself and get on and do it.” Of course, that comes back to team support. “KPMG’s partners were wonderful.”
Outside of work, Chris no longer plays rugby. He’s far from idle, however, thanks to two young daughters. “They’re a whole lot of energy and a whole lot of fun.”
