Lead Partner, Defence & National Security
Steve spent 20 years serving in the military – he is a former officer of the Royal Australian Air Force who retired as a Wing Commander. During his service he acquired extensive skills in logistics, IT and project management – often on a grand scale. He has built on these skills through 20 years of management consulting, initially as a major program manager, where for instance, he managed the Optus C1 satellite program, and since 2000 has grown and run large professional services practices.
As Lead Partner for KPMG Australia’s Defence & National Security business, Steve is passionate about helping to improve the security of our country. He has developed a large and very capable team at KPMG which provides extensive support to the Department of Defence and to the broader Defence domain. Steve is a champion of collaboration. “I’m a great believer that the team is far, far more powerful than a whole bunch of individuals.”
Lately, Steve has been kept busy building a house on the coast with his wife. A father of three adult daughters, he still finds time to play golf and surf.
