National Leader, Deal Advisory – Tax

Stephen is a senior partner and leader of KPMG's National Deals Tax Advisory business, specialising in Australian corporate tax, especially in a M&A context.

He is a member of the executive team for KPMG Australia’s Tax & Legal division and responsible for the Tax & Legal Clients & Markets strategy and team.

Stephen was named Chartered Tax Adviser of the Year 2018 by the Tax Institute of Australia and has been an advisor on many of the largest M&A transactions in the Australian market over the past 10 years. He has built strong external governance experience in the not-for-profit sector through many non-executive director riles throughout the Victorian arts community.

An occasional lecturer in M&A tax law at the University of Melbourne Law School, Stephen has also been a mentor for Masters students in the faculty for more than 10 years.

He is a passionate cyclist and fundraiser for Australian charity organisations supporting children in need.
