National Practice Leader, Executive Search & Selection
Assisting clients to find strong leaders to navigate the challenges of modern business is a key driver for Liz Crawford. As National Practice Leader, KPMG Executive Search and Selection, she seeks out people motivated by innovation, collaboration and globalisation. “We search in Australia and internationally, for people with appropriate leadership capabilities,” she says. Liz began her career in the publishing and commercial furniture/fit-out industries, where she developed capabilities in general management, project management, client relationship management and leadership. She transitioned into executive search and selection with national firms, before establishing her own firm, providing services in executive search and selection, remuneration benchmarking, HR advice and organisational capacity building. Liz joined KPMG in 2005 and took on her current role in 2011. Liz assists boards with the appointment of Non-Executive Directors, Chief Executive Officers and Senior Executives from the Australian and international markets, and advises on appropriate leadership capabilities and performance metrics for CEO and executive roles. Liz has consulted with clients in transport, mining, professional services and other sectors. “I’ve focused on the government space, and increasingly work with boards across sectors,” she says. Liz serves on the board of Access Arts Inc, which pioneers opportunities for people living with disadvantage or disability to excel in the arts. She spends time with family, friends, playing sport, traveling and working on her music and language skills. She plays piano and guitar and speaks French. Learning Danish is next on the list!
