Mark has over 15 years of experience in financial services and banking. He leads KPMG’s operational risk management (and CPS220 Risk Management) service line and assists clients both locally and overseas by solving complex risk management and regulatory capital related matters. Prior to KPMG, Mark gained significant experience and insights into risk management and prudential regulation from his time at APRA. Mark understands the inherent complexity in principles-based prudential regulation and brings practical market-based insights to assist clients. Mark’s risk management and capital experience includes strengthening the productivity and efficiency of risk governance structures, setting risk appetites and embedding ‘three lines of defence’ of operating models. He also designs, develops and facilitates risk and control self-assessment processes, control assurance plans and testing, scenario analysis and stress testing, and incident capture and management processes. He develops capital estimation methodologies for specific risk classes and operational risk data analytics and solutions.
