In a nutshell, what does your business group/service line do?

Health, Ageing & Human Services (HA&HS) Group is committed to the shared purpose of ‘achieving better outcomes for the wellbeing of all Australians’. We make this happen through each engagement. We help government agencies, health services and care providers through service system re-design projects, evaluation and program reviews. We involved in the development of quality and safety standards and outcome measurement frameworks, workforce and service planning, cost benefit analyses and social return on investment analyses.

The HA&HS team are super friendly and welcoming. They are always looking for opportunities to involve you in different types of work and give you exposure to your interest areas. Everyone is always up for a chat (when time permits).

What does the average day look like?

An average day can involve a number of different elements. Typically, you would be working on deliverables for clients such reports, presentations and literature reviews. You may participate in business development activities such as the preparation of proposals. Plus, there is usually some assistance at consultations and workshops.

What will I learn in the first year?

You’ll learn how to be adaptable and flexible. Things can change rapidly from day to day. You’ll find out a lot about specialist topics you had no idea about. You’ll learn how to write the ‘KPMG’ way and you’ll develop the confidence to communicate the key KPMG messages to clients, whether in proposal form or engaging face to face.

What’s the best part of the role?

The variety. It’s great having the opportunity to work with different people on different jobs and have the chance to solve challenging problems that can improve people’s lives.
