Broadening your horizons is all about opening yourself to new experiences and new opportunities.
For Sally, who grew up in the south of Sydney, heading off to the Australian National University at 17 to study her Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts (International Relations) opened her to a world of possibilities.
As Sally said, "essentially, what motivates me is broadening my horizons, trying to learn as much as possible not just in a work or academic sense but the world around me in order to gain a more holistic and well-rounded world view, to consistently stretch myself and better myself."
Combined with working overseas and her love of politics, travel and meeting new people, Sally feels this has given her "a very global perspective, which I find to be very helpful on a day to day basis."
This is especially beneficial as the bulk of Sally's work at KPMG revolves around, as Sally continues, "international corporations, funds and global investments."
"But every day is different, every client is different and every transaction is different, and will bring with it new and interesting challenges!"
Each day Sally provides assistance that goes beyond expectations. "We assist with tax-structuring, writing up tax opinions and advisory pieces on the tax implications of particular structures or aspects of structures. We'll also review transaction, project and financing documentation from a tax perspective, provide tax due diligence services and also review the tax inputs of financial models."
Of course there’s more to life than a love of travel, work and politics. As Sally says, "I also love music and love seeing concerts whenever I have a free moment."
