The UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan declared it to be, in 2017, the 'Year of Giving', promoting the culture of giving back to the community and enhancing the spirit of volunteering and national loyalty.
The initiative – focused on three main themes: developing the private sector’s sense of community responsibility; enhancing the spirit of volunteering; and instilling national loyalty and commitment - is being embraced by individuals and organizations across the UAE. As a leader in the corporate social responsibility (CSR) domain, KPMG is encouraging private and public sector organizations to connect and promote CSR initiatives with #YearofGiving.
Leading UAE institutions have started focusing on creating a positive social impact through their business practices and different community development initiatives. The Year of Giving is the catalyst for which both public and private entities can work towards societal development in the UAE.
