Rob is the VAT leader for KPMG in the UAE. He has provided a broad range of taxation advisory and consultancy work for over 30 years, with a particular focus on VAT and goods and services tax (GST). He was Vice-Chairman of the OECD Working Party that has been developing international VAT guidelines for cross-border services and is a key contributor to many international forums on VAT, including the global VAT forums held in 2012 and 2014. Rob has significant experience advising government on VAT and tax policy issues, including the drafting of VAT legislative amendments, as well as years of practical experience advising local and multinational companies on GST and VAT implementation, compliance and restructuring opportunities in Australia, Malaysia and now businesses with operations in the Lower Gulf. Rob’s blend of policy and practical VAT implementation experience means he has unique insights on VAT.
